Each button has its own unique code. When pressed, that code is sent quickly through our network and to our database. Our database understands what to do next depending on the use case. Example: If the button is pressed by your Grandfather, our system will know to alert you and all your siblings immediately. Depending on the button you use will determine what message is sent. The button does not require a SIM CARD. It works using radio frequency, similar to Alarms Systems setup in your home, except that we have an existing radio network that covers 93% of South Africa which is always listening out for the button. Therefore no installation of any additional equipment is needed.

The most important aspect of a button is to ensure that when it is pressed, a message is received. It must be reliable and always on.

Since the battery life is of primary concern, we decided that we would not provide Live GPS tracking on the button since Live GPS consumes a lot of power and that would require the button to be charged every few days.

The aim of the button is to make it accessible to everyone that needs it. There is a fixed price for each button as well as a network and infrastructure cost. Depending on the use-case and volume of buttons required will determine the costs.
